Lip Sync Tutorial

Lip Sync
In the lesson where we had to learn how to lip sync, we was given a soundtrack and performance shots that go with the soundtrack along with some cut aways. We had to place the soundtrack in the audio section in fcp and thew clips on top in the visual section. We then had to cut away the moving images on time with the beat and bring it all together. I had no trouble with this as I have done plenty of editing before. I finished editing the whole clip and managed to add cut aways in the time that was set by our teachers.

I brought in both, the audio and the moving images into final cut pro. I synced the lip movement with the track by finding a specific spot where it was easy to hear them speak. I cut the clip from that area. I then cut the audio track from the same place and locked the audio section so no slicing was made to the actual track whilst I edited as this may mess up the audio.
I then brought over the first clip to where the lips moved together with the audio. I repeated this with all the other moving images until they were all on top of each other. I then double clicked 'B' to bring out the double blade tool to slice through each and every performance shot. I did this for every time I thought was right (mostly in time with the beat). I then deleted the performance shots that were not needed and ended up with my edited music video.
